In the midst of the mountains in the Kangra District lies the city of Dharamshala which the Great Dalai Lama likes to call home. Translating as the 'home of religion' and a significant Buddhist population, this hill-station has a huge flourish of culture in its monasteries, artwork and handicrafts.

The Norbulingka Institute trains several Tibetans-in-exile several varied art-forms and trains them to excel in several crafts. In my photographs, I have attempted to capture the reconnaissance of the human spirit with old art forms.
